Mac-based digital photographers running OS X Mavericks have received an early Christmas present from Apple in the form of an operating system update that delivers added support for RAW image files for 10 late model cameras, including recently released models from Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic and Sony.
Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.06 gives users of Apple's proprietary photo editing programs Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11 the ability to add RAW images to their photographic repertoires. The OS update requires users to be running Aperture 3.4.5 or later, or iPhoto 9.4.3 or later.
